High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Vehicles and other mobile machinery used for transport (over land, sea, air, rail) and for other uses (agricultural, mobile power generation, etc) contribute heavily to climate change and pollution, so zero emission engines are an area of active research. These technologies almost in all cases include an electric engine powered by an energy source compact enough to be installed in the vehicle. These sources include hydrogen fuel cells, batteries, supercapacitors, and flywheel energy storage devices. In some cases, such as compressed air engines, the engine may be mechanical rather than electrical. This mechanical engine is then powered by a passive energy source like compressed air, or a combustible non-polluting gas like hydrogen. The above engines can be used in all vehicles, from cars to boats to propeller airplanes. For boats, energy sources such as nuclear power and solar panels can also be a viable option, in addition to traditional sails and turbosails.

Today, the concept of net zero- energy buildings has become a major concern regarding fossil fuels combustion side effects, such as air pollution or global warming. NG (Natural Gas) is a kind of fossil fuels which is widely combusted in Iran to meet various buildings heating demand. However, this research is proposed mitigating NG flaring by substituting solar energy as an auxiliary energy source in dwelling buildings and estimating accurate values of SGI (Solar Global Irradiance) on tilted planes via Artificial Neural Network (ANN) respectively. To fulfill this objective a solar thermal collector is designed which is either responsible to preheat water circulates in radiators loop, to provide space heating, or domestic hot water to supply washing demand in flats. Indeed, in case of utilizing this application fewer NG will be combusted for rising input water temperature to required value and fewer CO2 emission eventually. Also a dwelling complex including 136 apartments is considered perform this research. This complex is situated in Mashhad, the second megacity in Iran. Besides, to evaluate this potential four steps have been taking into account.

In this modern era, people have become such dependent on motorized transportation that they want to have their private mode of transport for the convenience of their frequent movement. From a recent statistics it is found that currently almost 2.7 million vehicles are running alone on the roads of Bangladesh and approximately 2.4 million are the type of vehicle which is used for personal means. Because of the huge number of vehicles on the road, the fuel consumption is very high and except gas, most of other fuels (octane, petrol, diesel etc.) are imported from abroad. Bangladesh an import-dependent country, with this high demand of fuel, is so now counting loss. Furthermore burning of these fuels causes a huge amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) emission that results greenhouse effect. In this project, the idea of a green bus system is proposed which can be a remarkable aid to the recent traffic condition. In this regard a prototype of green bus system is implemented where resources such as wind, solar and piezo-electric generator are employed. All the resources being used in this project are abundantly available and also emit zero CO2.

Grid Integration of Electric Mobility

The UN Climate Change Conference in Paris, with its key topics of global warming and deteriorating air quality, will speed up the advance of electric mobility. CO2-neutral and zero-emission mobility require electricity to be generated from regenerative sources of energy. Power generation from wind and solar energy, however is dependent on the weather and is therefore not stable. The irregularities that occur in nature can result in unacceptable voltage fluctuations in the power grid. For that reason, the availability of highly flexible loads and storage systems is becoming particularly important. Electric vehicles, with their grid-relevant properties as controllable power consumers and electricity storage systems, could help to stabilize future power grids.

This book provides an up-to-date review of the status and prospects of different options in energy conversion and storage technologies, as seen by a panel of world leading experts. It offers a platform for readers engaged in planning and undertaking new energy solutions or retrofitting and redesigning the existing installations to confront and to compare the pros and cons of various novel technology options. Contributing articles cover new clean and zero-emission coal technologies, solar, wind, nuclear, fuel cells, hydrogen and hybrid technologies, accompanied by treatises on the challenge of increasing global energy needs and consumption, issues of sustainability, and on specific ideas for efficient production and use of energy based on modern rationing technologies. The volume also offers views of feasibility of the implementation of advanced technologies especially in countries other than the few most developed industrial nations and highly populous countries, which all may have different priorities. Further, it brings together several regional surveys of needs, resources and priorities, as well as specific initiatives towards meeting future energy objectives, pursued in several countries in South-Eastern Europe. The book targets engineers and planners in the energy sector, employees in energy utility companies, and various levels of governmental organizations and offices. It is also meant to serve as a graduate-level textbook to meet the growing demand for new courses in alternative, renewable and sustainable energy technologies at technical and general universities.

Proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC), as a source of electrical power, provides numerous benefits such as zero carbon emission and high reliability as compared to wind and solar energy. The first part of this book attempt to model the voltage of PEMFC using simple and effective semi-empirical equations. The initial feature of the proposed technique is to incorporate the features of the mechanistic model with less complex equations. The second part of the book focuses on modelling the PEMFC temperature. The fault diagnosis procedure has also been elaborated for flooding and drying faults of PEMFC. Moreover, the electrical equivalent modelling has also been discussed all of the above-mentioned models consider ambient conditions changes directly.

This book describes the challenges and solutions the energy sector faces by shifting towards a hydrogen based fuel economy. The most current and up-to-date efforts of countries and leaders in the automotive sector are reviewed as they strive to develop technology and find solutions to production, storage, and distribution challenges. Hydrogen fuel is a zero-emission fuel when burned with oxygen and is often used with electrochemical cells, or combustion in internal engines, to power vehicles and electric devices. This book offers unique solutions to integrating renewable sources of energy like wind or solar power into the production of hydrogen fuel, making it a cost effective, efficient and truly renewable alternative fuel.
